Not sure if this would be of interest to you; but for my 30th birthday, I ran a marathon. The entire training (about 6 months) was cheaper than going to London, but more expensive than bungee jumping (needed of quality shoes, a little bit of running gear, race fees, etc.). It was a great experience; and I'll probably do it again someday (maybe 40th, lol). If it's too late to train for a marathon, you could look around for a 5k or something. It's particularly good if it falls right on your birthday...gives you something to wake up for and a rush the rest of the day.I've got less than a month to go so I think it's bit late. I'm not the active type anyway. I could probably set a goal to watch a marathon though. :-)Another thing I considered was getting a tattoo. Don't think it would have been as fun or satisfying though.I thought about that as well. A tattoo of Brainy Smurf right on my ankle. But I have a fear of commitment so the wet-n-stick tattoos are more my speed.
