Not to be inflammatory, but the reason Columbine got so much media play while the others didn't is because in Columbine everyone was predominately white and the school was in a wealthy community, while in all the others one or both of those conditions don't apply.

Don't have that much to say about Elephant. I think it is a very beautifully shot, well made film. I think it was great Van Sant used mostly unknown, inexperienced actors, which really made it feel real. There is just such a spooky reality to this movie, in the characters, the story, and the resolution, which makes this so compelling and haunting.

I'm also a bit puzzled about the scenes with the bulemic girls. I think it is partly to throw in a lighthearted moment, but also to show the shallowness of some members of society which could be an explantion for a contributing factor leading the shooters to snap.

I'm also puzzled by the point of the gay shower scene.

I guess just all the scenes in this movie are just meant to add up to an overall feeling of uneasiness and discomfort.
