Howdy Fools,I'm new to investing and would like to open an IRA. However, I am in school and do not currently work. I live off of loan money. However, I recently got a $2000 gift from my grandmother and would like to invest it. Am I allowed to use this money in an IRA? (in other words, does it count as compensation or income?) Thanks for your help.Brian
