Now, hopefully those types of questions might spawn a discussion that will be helpful. But the smart-ass cynic in me thinks "yeah, right, never happen".

As one smart-ass to another, you are not going to spawn any helpful discussion by being a smart-ass. Not everyone on TMF knows your love of detailed spreadsheets that ignore significant figures that would make an engineer's head explode. They don't know the details of your credit card debt. They don't know you based your decisions on financial, not emotional reasons. Therefore, you're responses up to this point in the thread (already read rest of thread) were likely not going to spawn any discussions. It more likely were going to invite other smart-ass responses like that dufus WallyLock.
