Now, since I didn't give you any advice on what to do with the money I'll tell you what I would do with it. If it were mine I wouldn't hesitate for a minute putting it all in the Vanguard S & P 500 Index Fund.

There may be someone out there that thinks that putting all of your money in VFINX you would not be diversified. You have a right to your opinion. However, before you let that opinion be "carved in stone" click on this website and go to the list of the stocks in the S&P 500 Index Fund. Read each and every name of each stock in the fund out loud. When you have finished reading the list out loud, then make your decision as to whether or not your funds are diversified.
