This is the UK style....likely one he is trying to copy. He already copied the UK health care system with it's Death Panels.

"'Why should we work? Our parents pay tax so we're entitled to benefits': Couple living off £17,000 handouts say working for the minimum wage is unfair"
A young couple who receive more than £17,000 a year in benefits appeared on ITV's This Morning to defend their taxpayer-funded lifestyle.
Danny Creamer, 21, and Gina Allan, 18, who live in a comfortable two-bedroom flat in Portsmouth with their four month old daughter, Talulah Rose, say they are better off on £17k benefits and argue that unless they are able to find jobs that pay £18,000 a year or more, there's no point in working.
The couple also hit back at those who describe them as scroungers, arguing that because their hard-working parents have paid tax all their lives, they are entitled to claim some of the money back

Someone should conduct surreptitious interviews with America's welfare recipients and assemble them into an hour-plus long documentary and then present it to Congress.
Stick this in there, too. The UK weenies, too.

A concept so easy to understand that you can be sure that a liberal won't get it:
"If you subsidize something, you get more of it. Conversely, if you punish something, you get less of it."
Let's see what Preezie has been encouraging and punishing.
He's been subsidizing unemployment benefits; we've had 8% unemployment for years.
He's turned a blind eye to disability fraud, and we have more people going on disability than getting a job.
As President "You didn't build that", he's been attacking small business. What do you know - job growth is anemic and GDP shrunk last quarter.
His signature legislation has increased uncertainty among businesses, making them unwilling to either hire or invest capital. No growth, no jobs.
He believes that Government is a better allocator of resources, so we have massive spending with nothing to show for it except a cartoonish debt that the media has deemed irrelevant.
He took over the student loan program, and sees no problem with students taking on debt that they can't pay back, because their tuition goes to professors and administrators, which is a key constituency of Democrats.
As far as K-12 education spending, we spend much more per student than any other country, yet our academic performance is mediocre at best. The Democrat 'solution' is that we don't spend enough.
Our electorate is stuck on stupid. I'm interested to find out when 51% of Americans realize that this guy was a mistake from the get-go.

When hell freezes over. Too many takers whose promise of free stuff from the collectivists you can never take back.

What's amazing to me is i'm starting to hear democrats saying that the deficit isn't even a problem. Obama has said it and more recently i heard Landrieu say it, "don't listen to Fox News, the deficit isn't a problem". Of course 6 years ago they were calling much smaller deficits when the debt was alot smaller, "a failure of leadership". All the dems should be tasered. It's too bad the media friggin' sucks.

Why we are where we are is that it is a lot easier to recognize someone else's mistake rather than your own. It is the human condition.
We live in a society that has no grasp of history, recent or less recent so all they have is current mistakes to judge on.
Stupidity is the tyrants best friends.

A frontal lobotomy would suffice and do wonders for the common good of society.

Exactly. It's human nature not to confront error or want to believe the worst won't happen. It's why investors stay in a losing stock position, don't recognize or won't act on a real estate bubble, don't prepare for emergencies, etc. Hardly anyone doesn't like to look on the bright side of things most of the time.

My liberal golfing buddy told me as much the last time we played. He believes all the feldercarp the media and moveon.org types throw around about the 'tea party'. I was trying to educate him what the basic beliefs of the tea party were. I started with fiscal restraint and our gov't living within its means.
He says, "why?. Why do we need to pay down the deficit. We can just keep printing money to support our social programs. We are the United States and can do it as long as we want."
And this was after I spent about 10 minutes talking about China propping us up, giving him examples of other gov't collapses throughout history, asking him what happens when an individual or business keeps borrowing money to the point they can no longer afford the interest.
And this is a guy who scored 1300 on his SAT and got an economics degree.
I gave up and just focused on my golf game, which was going badly. It was cold and windy. I shot a 91. Worse score in 5 years.

A wise man once said, “Never complain about your golf score. 90% of people don’t care. The rest wish it were higher."
