Oh, and I failed to mention that the schizophrenics used to hang out on the second floor landing.
I actually live in Brooklyn Heights which is famous for it's panoramic view of Manhattan from the Promenade.
So, to have to put up with the craziness at the local library seems a bit much. At any rate I just read that this library will be closing soon. The air conditioning will cost something like 3 1/2 million to replace so they have decided to relocate the library.
This is a big library and it services many different neighborhoods.
It's sad but I am moving anyway and hopefully things will be better in a smaller town where I would love to volunteer my time.
