Not Rita/Katrina significant, yet, but far worse than Gustav. Ten product platforms are gone, two more adrift (heard the adrift reports from a separate source). Pipelines damaged along with distribution points and tank farms. I know the Exxon/Mobil refinery in Beaumont flooded, but it isn't suppose to be extensive. The major issue even without the flooding is a complete lack of infrastructure, electrical, water, and telecommunications and it could take weeks for that come back online. Here is the thing that people don't seem to understand. The United States no longer controls the price of a barrel of oil on our demand. We just don't - the whole world is cutting back, that is why the price is dropping for a barrel of oil. But the gasoline supply could get very constricted in the eastern 2/3 of the nation, and this is why with a good crude oil supply, a stronger dollar and weak demand we see the two lines going in different directions.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26706452/
