On the one hand players getting 57% of revenue is way out of line with the other major sports (generally right around 50% or a bit higher, but not that high!) though, on the other hand it's the owner's fault that it's percentage based at all... the players were just fine with a hard cap last time around and the owners said no, and now it's biting the owners in the keister though they're still fighting a hard cap. Really it's the small market owners fighting the big market owners with the players mostly pawns in the middle. That and Bettman insisting on keeping hockey in Arizona where it loses money by the bucketload (mainly due to some terrible mistakes made by the owners there, such as putting the stadium way out in BFE). Move that franchise to Seattle or Quebec City and watch it thrive!
