One additional note: I just upgraded my MBP to ML. Yesterday, when I was still running Lion, Mail was telling me that I had 8 duplicates per message for recent messages. Mountain Lion Mail isn't telling me that, but I assume that the duplicates are still there and that Mail just doesn't tell me. My assumption is that this is one of those things that "average users just don't need to know" and that Apple has taken away that information. Is it possible that the upgrade removed the duplicates for me -- without bothering to tell me? Or are they just hidden... and taking up disk space?
