Rat took a couple of days off to enjoy the beach, the pistol range, and the fishing down here in Florida. For the rat record:...caught some fish, and caught some rays. Also caught some clarity out there amongst the "snowbirds." There are friends here whose technical understanding far outpaces anything rat can muster...and he bows to the knolwedge and efforts therein. The tech is not going away...for sure....but the evaluations, short term revenue growth jumps, and power numbers are. There is NO question that the "nuts and bolts" guys are getting slammed back to earth. Earth appears to be around 10/99 on these charts rat is sick of looking at. That is where most of these stocks got 'beamed up.' They are getting beamed right back down to the lift off points. Long ago we spoke of BRCM around 60 as a 'ratindicator' stock. That number still stands. If one believes that BRCM will hit 60, then where will CSCO, JNPR, RBAK, and a host of others be on that fearful day? It appears that few here want to diversify much. The food, beverage, some retail, banks, some healthcare, and some energy offer viable alternatives to tech in this environment. If tech is the only way to go, then we must SHOW SOME serious patience here. The bottom is an illusion. The average into positions is a reality. The wait time will be long and ardurous. The long term rewards will be astounding if we chose right. Save money in money markets. Protect assets. Trading is for traders. It is a discipline not for everyone. HOPE is a 4 letter word these days. Stabbing at stocks is a bloody business. Don't fight the trend. The trend is down in technology. Let it work itself out. It seems apparent that if the 'nuts and bolts' guys are not sucking up that revenue, then the guys they sold too will not have those huge expenses now. Can a company like Global Crossing now return to glory with the capex monkey off her back? Does p imply q? Use the P box for annoying gloaters and assorted flotsam and jetsom. Save the energy wasted on silliness. There is no law that states we HAVE to buy stocks! Money markets look damn good about now. The miracle of compound interest still lives! We will need cash to buy stocks one day....Do the research, find the companies...keep friendships...make new ones...keep sharing...fend off the barbarians from the north...use the P the wagons...there will be another day...even the South was rebuilt after Sherman marched to the long as the land is there....thngs can be built on it..communities can NOT let the 'untermenchen' poison the land!!!!!!Keep the land Fertile and things can grow!!! thanks to all who try so hard to keep contributing, and keep this community alive....appreciativeRat
