I opened a Roth IRA at Datek and funded it, and I don't understand what the next step is. I figure I was going to buy into a fund, but I don't understand how you go about it.

I have a stock account where I have bought and sold stocks. Simple enough. The trades page doesn't seem to make sense. It wants to buy X shares at Y price. I look up a fund's ticket, and it says symbol not found.

Here is what I want to do...
I see a fund I am interested in. I want to put $X dollars into it. Buy whatever shares you can get me for $X.

I also noticed funds that have minimum investments of $2000. I have $2020 to invest. Will I make it? How are maintenance costs paid on these funds?

HELP! Thank you in advance!!
