Just wanted to ramble to anyone that cares to listen that I had an outstanding day today. It was my oldest son's 4th birthday today!

After preschool, we took him out for lunch (he chose the restaurant) and then we went out to a local pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins. The place we found was really great. They had animals to feed and pet, a haunted forest walk that was really pretty cool, hay rides, corn mazes, toy tractors for the kids to ride, big wooden playsets in the shape of tractors and then of course, all the pumpkins you could see out in the fields just waiting to be picked.

We gathered up 5 pumpkins, played a little more and headed home. Once we got home, DS tore into his presents and the rest of the evening was spent putting things together and playing! What a blast!

And the day didn't cost that much either, about $15 for lunch for the four of us and $30 for the pumpkins and other assorted goodies at the pumpkin patch.

I'll tell you, there is nothing like the feeling after reading my DS his bedtime stories and he is drifting to sleep, he rolled towards me and whispered, "Dad, this was my best birthday ever!" Granted he has only had a few but it still made me smile!
