DW and I were discussing classic films earlier this evening, and the question came up as to which of the films of Bette Davis represents her greatest performance.

IMHO, her best performance was the 1934 film "Of Human Bondage," based upon the famous W. Somerset Maugham novel, often considered his masterpiece.

Surprisingly, the film - despite its marquee actors, Davis and Leslie Howard, and its high regard among classic film buffs - is now in the public domain.

It's amazing what is available for free viewing on the Internet.
