Along with some other readers of this board, I had the pleasure of meeting John and his wife, Mary, at a Berkshire annual meeting many years ago. We set together at a group dinner I helped organize. Both wonderful people. John was very quiet until another guest asked what he did for a living. "I helped send men to the moon." he replied.

They were and Mary remains long term Berkshire shareholders.

One of the great benefits of Berkshire ownership and attending the annual meetings are the outstanding people you get to meet and share experiences with.

Our nation is better today for John and Mary's lives, and poorer for his passing.
