[O]ther people are always buying new cars. . .

I tend to buy new cars, but I have a preference for high-performance cars with manual transmissions that can be used as a daily driver. Knowing how I drive my cars, I don't necessarily want an used car that's been driven like that.

I'd have no hesitation buying a mainstream "appliance" car, such as a Camry, a Buick or a minivan used. I'd also think about buying a low mileage performance car used, if it's one that can't be used as a daily driver, and if I could talk with the previous owner. There are a lot of Vipers and Ferraris out there with only a few thousand miles on them.
