Other than as a relatively small factor in the overall cost of living, why are you using taxes as the criterion in selecting where you plan to spend the rest of your life? Surely, there must be more important considerations, such as; quality of life, cultural resources, proximity to friends and family, climate, medical services, overall cost of living, etc..

Out of curiosity, as a New Englander who has never been to the area, why do you want 2 homes in what appear to be similar climate and fairly close proximity?
