Our badges have RFID chips in them. They cannot be used to track us. The read range is much too small for that. They can track when we enter (you have to badge-in to open the door), but you can exit without scanning. There are also a few rooms within the company that require badge-access, but not many. Most days I only badge-in, and after that I roam freely.

I don't know what goofnoff's employer is up to, so I can't comment. But simple RFID is not sufficient to do what you suggest. Despite what you see in the movies.
