Our Turn NJ is doing an advertising blitz to gain support on creating gaming sites in North Jersey
here is their site:

I think what I object to most is the misinformation contained in the ad.
Gaming contributes little to Senior Services in the State, almost nothing to individual care.
The other implication is that NY and PA are 'stealing' our money by having their own gambling sites. So we should create a monopoly in casinos here? It looks like an attempt to limit other States rights or their ability to attract casinos to their areas.
And next is the idea of just how beneficial to a State a casino is. I think you are well aware of what Atlantic City casinos have accomplished.I questioned the value early on, but was convinced of it's overall value later on. Many years later the City has not shown the great improvements promised and there has been a lot of competition to build new casinos at a large expense and unfortunately many have failed. AC has earned a lot of tax income but it has not gone back into the city as infrastructure or services. Exactly where it has gone is not something I know.
Where would I suspect OTNJ would want to build a casino? First thought would be along the Hudson, it's proximity to NY as well as Eastern NJ would be a crowd attraction. But Vernon is also a candidate, a lot of land available cheap, a ski area and oh yes, the former Playboy Club. Another choice would be East of 287 around the 280 area.

I would like to know what group(s) is behind this ad campaign, as well as the proposed legislation. But I am sure they are a lot of powerful and well monied organizations.
