Outstanding!

When I became a professor I was amazed that I was just dropped in a classroom with only the example of the classes I had taken as a student as any hint what I should do. While I had taken difficult courses and done thousands of hours of homework and research to understand the workings of my field, teaching was about as professional as handing a summer employee a pooper scooper and telling him to keep the park clean.

Virtually nothing we do in modern society is done the way it was done a thousand years ago. Better ways have been found. Can education really be that different that we accidentally had the right answer in the middle ages?

I'm proud it is a physicist making these gains.
