Good morning,PacketVideo, a leader in wireless multimedia software and services for mobile applications, and INTERVU Inc. today announced that INTERVU will be PacketVideo's preferred provider for encoding and delivery services, and that INTERVU will provide support during PacketVideo's wireless multimedia trials scheduled to begin later this year. Under the terms of this agreement, PacketVideo will supply its PVAuthor(tm) MPEG-4 compliant video encoding software to INTERVU, who will encode and deliver a variety of multimedia content over its patented distributed network to locations PacketVideo will manage as part of its wireless delivery activities. PacketVideo, which in June 1999 became the first company to publicly demonstrate the transmission of live and pre-encoded streaming video to palm-size and handheld PCs over today's digital wireless networks, is preparing to work with carriers in North America, Asia, and Europe to trial the delivery of wireless multimedia Internet to mobile users in the first half of this year. Among the wireless companies that are planning to support PacketVideo's wireless multimedia Internet trials is QUALCOMM, the pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology. According to Dr. Irwin M. Jacobs, chairman and chief executive officer of QUALCOMM, "We believe that multimedia wireless distribution over the Internet is a growing application for consumer electronic devices. We are pleased to see popular applications that take advantage of the CDMA technology platform."Click on the news link above to read the full press release.Keep Foolish and Prosper, Spirit PS: One way traditional market indices have failed is by how they're valued and weighted.
