I visit the Yahoo finance boards on a daily basis. Most of the posts are a waste of my time (unlike the MF boards ;-) ), but on occassion there will be a gem among the massive amount of garbage. Since I began visiting the Yahoo boards, I have noted that some of the posters are believed to be "paid bashers/pumpers" who are allegedly hired by some funds to try to affect the price movement of a stock. Does anyone know whether paid bashers are an urban myth, like Bigfoot or Nessie? Although I can't believe that a fund would waste its monry hiring people to bash/pump a stock, I see circumstantial evidence (new IDs with recent creation dates posting) that indicate it in fact may be the case. On a slightly related topic, does anyone know of other stock boards besides Yahoo which are worth visiting?Regards,Steven E. Lohr
