I am a golf professional. In tournaments I of course play by the rules.

Its interesting, but I find the better the golfer the more they play their own rules when not in a tournament. This, of course, excludes new golfers who don't KNOW the rules.

I very rarely see golfers who average 85 to 90 or lower putt short ones. They are the biggest abusers of the gimme, IMO.

It is great that the most important rule is to have fun. I wish, sometimes, that I could worry more about just having fun than recording an actual score ;-)

BTW, are there REALLY only about 20 people who read this board, or are some people just afraid to vote ?
