Papa John's owner was a major contributor to the Romney campaign.
Going public was more of a temper tantrum than an economic need.

I'm trying to figure out what it is with pizza chains.

Papa John's. Domino's with Tom Monaghan (who sold the chain to Bain Capital). Herman Cain and Godfather's Pizza. It must be something in the tomato sauce.

Why doesn't this happen with other fast food chains? You never heard of Ray Kroc throwing temper tantrums. (Heck, a big chunk of his money ended up at NPR.) Colonel Sanders? Wendy's? Taco Bell? What is it about pizza?
