As I was reading the current posts I started to feel guilty and then decided to feel proud instead. I switched careers later in life. DH has been retired for 21 years, while I finished medical school the year after he retired... and having raised ELEVEN children, with the last still in college, I find that our true wealth is in them, they've all had as much education as they would let us help them through (all paid off). My school loans are coming down the home stretch, we have a pleasant but not fancy home, and crossed the income=net worth line about ten years ago.
