DH and I went out to a Spanish restaurant in Crystal City (north Arlington, just south of DC). Full of uber-yuppies. The woman behind me was talking about sample sizes, which is something I know and enjoy. Anyway, dinner.

Very tapasy. Here we go:

Jamón Ibérico, jamón Serrano and chorizo Palacios

Selection of 6 cheeses-
Pasamontes Manchego
Murcia al vino
Caña de cabra
Idiazábal
Garrotxa
Valdeón

Ensalada campera
Salad of conserved tuna, fingerling potatoes, green beans, tomatoes and hard boiled eggs - I skipped the potatoes.

Escalivada catalana
Roasted red peppers, eggplant and sweet onions with Sherry dressing

Coliflor salteada con aceitunas y dátiles
Sautéed cauliflower with dates and olives - It was good. I'm recreating this sucker.

Cordero a la brasa con salsa de romero*
Grilled lamb T-bones with rosemary sauce

Unfortunately, Jaleo is in the DC area and Las Vegas, but alas, not in Portland. We had a good time. And I even walked 3 blocks. Twice. It was hard.
