My wife and I have a fundamental difference when in comes to our taxes. I say no thanks Mr Govt I'll hold onto my money until I absolutely have to pay you (ideally, I would like to not owe or get money back), while the wife thinks her friends are making out better since they are getting a large tax return.

We make more and don't have any kids yet (therefore none of the associated deductions), but that doesn't seem to matter to her. She just wants to see a decent check.

Could someone point me to any information to help me persuade the wife to my way of thinking?

Ok...ok or perhaps there is information that will persuade me towards hers.
