Once every 3000 posts or so on this board, I feel I have something valuable to contribute. The other stuff I post on PA :<)I heard Peter Kreeft speaking at the CS Lewis conference in Austin a few weeks ago. He's great. He uses short, pithy sentences. He's deep, a Catholic lay theolgian, a philosopher at Boston College. He may be Catholic, but his primary ministry is Christian (not Catholic-specific) apologetics.I've just started his book on Pascal's Pensees entitled Christianity for Pagans. It's almost never that I blow through 3 chapters of theology in one sitting, with family hearing occasional snorts and guffaws. In fact, I think I'll change my profile to include that book.Example: His paradigm as follows:One who loves soul and self: optimistic HumanistOne who hates soul and self: pessimistic misanthropeOne who loves soul and hates self: ChristianOne who hates soul and loves self: modern PaganAnother:One who pursues truth but doesn't understand how far he is from it: dogmatistOne who doesn't pursue truth but understands how far he is from it: skepticOne who doesn't pursue truth and doesn't understand how far he is from it: fool (Katinga's addition)One who pursues truth and understands how far he is from it: wiseI'm off to Oregon SIL in Eugene to help teach Language and Culture Acquisition.KatingaBapto-Menno-Charismo-Episcopal
