Thanks for what the charity provides to the donor...
But what about what the charity has to provide to the IRS?

Do the donors have to provide the charity with their SS number -
So when the charity submits Copy A of 1098-C to the IRS they won't have to check off the box 7 (less than 500.00)?

Does the charity need to check off that box if they can't get the donors SS? Even if they are using it for their own use????

I personally hate supplying my ss...

It's seems that it's getting harder not only for people to donate, but also for charities to accept donations...

PS IRS instructions include 'contemporaneous' - have to look that one up!
