PIMCO Total return is managed by Bill Gross, who is an excellent bond manager. However, that fund has a load and high(er) fees as mentioned here.

However, Bill Gross acts as a subadvisor to the following funds:
Harbor Bond Fund (HABDX) and Freemont Bond Fund (Dunno ticker).

If I were to buy into Bill Gross, it would be via the Harbor Bond Fund.

Also check out DODIX, Dodge and Cox Income Fund. It posts returns similar to Gross's, w/no load and a fee of only ~30 basis points or so! (Only Vanguard is cheaper.)
