Hey, Pixy--just read your article on "Creating a Comfy Income Cushion" and wanted to give you an attaboy for that one. I've been trying to develop some models for my (not imminent) retirement and have been very frustrated with the Wise Advice that urges a heavy allocation in fixed income investments after retirement. Your rolling 5-year cushion makes so much sense and allows a larger portion of your retirement fund to garner higher earnings while protecting you from the short-term vagaries of the market.
