I'm sorry... I'm going to whine again. Maybe I should start my own board for whining, or maybe I should have a little perspective...

In the last month:

September 8th: End up in emergency room with a serious lung infection. Not pneumonia, but high fever, coughing so hard my stomach hurt, just a mess. Chest x-ray, Levaquin for five days, home I go. It's a Saturday, so I don't even miss work!!!

September 9th: Find out that Levaquin has all kinds of interesting side effects, including insomnia, which is quite rare but oh yes, I do get that one, yes I do. In spades.

I start getting better. Following week? DS1 gets a lung infection (probably mine). Chest x-ray, etc. but he gets Zithromax.

About a week after that? My lung infection comes back. In spades. Back I go. Another chest x-ray. More antibiotics, and Prednisone. Prednisone makes me crazy. Always has. But I suck it up and I take it. Prescribed it for 10 days.

Last Wednesday, in my infinite wisdom, despite still being on the Prednisone, I get my flu shot. And HOLY COW my arm hurts... and my head hurts... and I'm nauseous. Oh, so nauseous.

Thursday, spend the day with a blinding headache and nausea. But I power through, spend the day at work, take Gator to gymnastics. Somewhere near the end of gymnastics I start feeling REALLY lousy. We head for the car.

I end up next to the car with Gator (age 8) standing over me, crying hysterically. Apparently, I passed out.

Back to the ER. Fluids, blood tests, etc... home by about 4AM. Yesterday, I didn't go to work... slept for 12 hours and woke up much better.

Today, DS1 is at the soccer game. They score their first goal of the season!!!

Then someone fouls him. Badly. His arm. So we go to the pediatrician. Then the radiologists.

It's broken. Both bones of his forearm.

Now the search for an orthopedist, on a Saturday. We go home. I help him shower.

I use a dishtowel, a copy of Madeline and two long zip ties to splint his arm. They find an orthopedist at a great hospital about 20 minutes away.

On the way to the hospital, I am rear-ended. By a 19-year-old kid. REALLY?????

Finally, to the hospital, where the doctor turns out to be quite awesome and he gets the bones set and the cast on.

I get home, and because I have not eaten since the morning, I then crash, because I have learned NOTHING from Thursday, clearly.

Please, make this stop... or at least slap me back to my senses, or something.
