I didn't buy POG myself, and I didn't list it here. However, we did buy POG for our clients, and one of the reasons I pounded the table to buy POG was because I viewed it as a takeover target. The reason I believed this was as follows: 1) nice reserves, located right here in the US; 2) relatively small market cap, meaning a takeover could be done by someone other than say BP or XOM; 3) bullish energy prices over the last few years, and 4) I saw a number of other small oil/natural gas companies being bought. While I favored POG over our other energy candidates based on the takeover potential, I would not have bought it solely on that basis.....the underlying business was solid. The takeover potential merely tipped the balance in POGs favor.

Nice way to end the year for our clients! :)
