Manga,

I've really just started, I'm devouring the Manga collection that our local library has.

I find that a lot of them are closer to a novel told with pictures then an american comic book. Some of the stories are in-depth, and complex. I've really enjoyed some of them.

My biggest issue with the majority is that they have a tendency to have the characters express extreme cartoony emotions/behaviors, and when they do that, they tend to show the character in a basic line figure. It kind of throws me off when they do that. Fullmetal Alchemist, and Angelic layer are good examples of this.

Some that I would recommend:
Naausica and the valley of winds
Akira
Lament of the lamb
Voices from another World
Scrapped Princess
Chrono Crusade

There are several others as well. My main problem right now is that The library doesn't have some of the issues, and in to big cases (Lament of the Lamb and Akira) has all but the very last. That's like reading a novel to find that the last few chapters have been ripped out...
