Preferred stocks are a whole different mess. They're not typically qualified dividends, although it's technically possible. Most often they're non-qualified dividends. Return of capital is also possible, and even interest income is a remote possibility.Your best bet is to ask investor relations how they expect the payments to be categorized.--Peter
