Prepaying on that mortgage is equivalent to a risk-free 7.5% return. If you are satisfied with that, then by all means prepay the mortgage. But you and I both know you can do better than that long term in the market (and tax deferred as well) If you get kicks from taking flyers on a few speculative issues, then I might presume that you would find a risk free 7.5% return to be a little bit tame and not terribly ambitious.
