I often give presentations in unfamiliar meeting rooms where it invariably takes 20 minutes to figure out the vagaries of the local projector and the computer it is attached to, then the PC (invariably) is missing the codecs required to play my video, etc. etc. etc.

This morning was one such occasion, that got me thinking: If I had my presentation on my iPad or iPhone (which are always with me).... and I brought an Apple TV (ATV) into the room .... could I do the following:

- set up WiFi hotspot on my iPad or iPhone
- have ATV join said hotspot
- hook up ATV to TV or projector via HDMI or HDMI-DVI cable
- AirPlay presentation and videos out of iDevice to ATV

Would this work (can't wait to try it - I own all the pieces I just can't get my hands on them right now)?

Could it be done more easily some other way - idea being playing presentation wirelessly out of iDevice?

Does Keynote support AirPlay?
