Don't be blue. Running is great because positive thinking will take you above and beyond what you thought you were capable of. Right?

Set a goal time for yourself that's reasonable and go for it! You'll feel great afterward. Much better than if you keep training sluggishly for the rest of the holiday season.

You should line up a day by day schedule for how you plan to train between now and Jan. 11. Post it on here, and all your fellow runners can give you some tips, feedback, and encouragement.

Truth be told, I'm in a similar situation right now. I haven't ran very seriously for the past two months, but I'm going to run The Huff relay race I posted about a few days ago. My leg is 11 miles long, and it happens in 11 days. That gives me 10 days to train.

Sure, I won't run my relay leg as fast as I have in the past, but I'm still going to try. My goal is to break 75 minutes. I'm running or riding the exercise bike for at least 45 minutes every day until then. I think I can do it.

And I think you can finish your marathon! What's your goal going to be? Best of luck,
