It's interesting to observe that the Republicans in the current administration have taken the position that Cheney's accidental shooting of a fellow hunter is private. It has nothing to do with his competence or ability to carry out the duties of his office.

Yet, when Clinton was president the Republicans were demanding that they had the right to know certain private details of the President's sex life. What should be more private than someone's sex life? (assuming consensual sex).

I have no doubt Democrats flip flop on moral issues as well when politically convenient. Politics in America today disappoints me greatly. Nor do I believe the current administration has a legitimate claim to moral authority. The current administration is a corrupt bunch of lying thieves, scoundrels. Headed by a couple of mass murderers named George W Bush, and Dick Cheney. I pray the house of Representatives switches to Democrats next January and Bush and Cheney are both impeached. I'm giving generously to Democratic contenders in my state who have a shot at converting a Republican seat.

Four years ago I could not have cared less about politics.
