The Fool: What's the most overrated idea, person, or event in our culture?
LondonFool: Idea: errrmm...
Sport: Anything to do with Tennis.
Person: Posh Spice. And the others.
Event: Christmas, only 'cos of the time spent on buying presents no-one wants: pure commercialism.
Another event: The Millenium. Wash out.
Building: Millenium Dome.
The Fool: If you could be the CEO of any public company, which one and why?
LondonFool: Chelsea Football Club.
Free season ticket with best view. Would need some serious cash to buy out Roman!
The Fool: What's your favorite Fool message board?
LondonFool: I surf most. Any that my Market Analyser picks up I then look for news of that stock.
The Fool: Describe your fitness program.
LondonFool: To and from the bar.
The Fool: What's the best restaurant you've ever been to? (Include name, location, and average bill for two.)
LondonFool: Best? Loads. But memories - Pisces at St.Lawrence, Barbados. We were still courting.
Bill about US$240 incl. a bottle of Moet. Restaurant is a bit tired now, but I have fond memories.
Mainly this one for the whole evening, really...
I've been to more formal restaurants, but this one was the best all-round evening.
The Fool: Which celebrity or public figure (past or present) do you most look like?
LondonFool: Andy Garcia or Robert De Niro.
My likenesses to both are uncanny.
Really amazing. ;-)
The Fool: What's your greatest athletic achievement? Little League champ? Ran a marathon? Did 4 consecutive sit-ups?
LondonFool: I bench-pressed 300lb when I was about 24 years old and fit! I could squat 400lb.
I used to play football at a 'reasonable' level, to an 'OK' standard!
The Fool: What product would you like to see us offer at FoolMart -- www.foolmart.com -- our online store?
LondonFool: Commision Free trading... I wish!

Outside the NMS without having to make calls.
The Fool: Did you ever do something as a child that you look back on now and say, 'Wow, I'm lucky even to be alive after that!'
LondonFool: 01. When I was 3 years-old, I fell off a sofa and almost ripped my nose off my face on a tin post box which had it's lid removed. Nose almost detached!

02. I had a nasty motorbike accident when I was 16.

03. At 05:46am on 17th January 1995 I was asleep in my apartment in Kobe, Japan. By 05:47am Kobe was all but completely destroyed in the biggest Japanese earthquake for 70 years. I was lucky, I suppose...

04. Hopefully there won't be a number 4...
The Fool: How'd you find out about the Fool? (Make your answer as colorful and truthful as possible.)
LondonFool: At Christmas '97 I read the US Fool book, then e-mailed the US site enquiring if there was going to be a UK version. The reply was that it was just starting up!
I was hooked but then faded away as it got too big. Now I'm back again as am actively trading again. The mdsnews.co.uk program is my lifeline now!
The Fool: What, in your opinion, are some of life's big mysteries?
LondonFool: Space and the Final Frontier. Seriously, I often wonder where the aliens are... It's always facinated me how small we are in comparison to the Universe. There's definately lots & lots of life out there (...Jim, but not as we know it...).
The Fool: Tell us about Your Dumbest Investment... and the lesson you learned from it.
LondonFool: Answered in about year 2000... See the answer to the next question regarding Orange and MSB...
Orange were sold on my ex-WiseMan's advice. MSB's cash flow should have played a bigger part in my buying decision.
Both were BIG lessons at the time. Years ago now, but lessons.
The Fool: Given a second chance, what financial decision would you like to do over?
LondonFool: Ages ago this was my answer:

I'd like to have got back the Orange stocks I sold at 205p, and I'd like to GIVE back the MSB I was still buying at 800p. Both lessons on ex-Wisemen's advice.
Also, Brands Hatch sold at ex-Wiseman's advise at 180p, went to 650p. MAKE YOUR OWN DECISIONS!!
I'd have also taken the profit on a massive bagger instead of listening to people telling me it was nowhere near over yet.

DO NOT USE A WISEMAN.
The Fool: Briefly explain how you select stocks.
LondonFool: Usual Foolish pre-requisites but do get in-and-out when they look over bought and over sold etc. I'm a great believer in the Fool (PEG) ratio for long holds.
I use the www.mdstrader.com Market Analyser program and the indicators are nearly always right, so I trade much more often now. I check these boards for news on a company when I see a buy possibility using the program.
The Fool: Share with us your best money-saving secret. Do you cut coupons? Bring your own candy bars to movies? Shop on Wednesday and pretend you're over 65?
LondonFool: Buy stock at the start of the month, then you have to be careful what you spend for the rest of the month!
Maybe also... borrow on your house at 4 1/2% (IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT) and invest Foolishly. It's quicker than saving and saving for a few grand, and your return on the money should beat 4 1/2%, hopefully! It's a good way of saving, the money is gone at the start of the month. But you MUST be able to afford the extra mortgage cost!!
The Fool: What presently non-existent product would you like the Fool to offer, and why?
LondonFool: Next year's 4th April Financial Times.

For obvious reasons. ;-)
The Fool: Did Lee Harvey Oswald act alone?
LondonFool: Did he act at all?
The Fool: What's the strangest thing you've ever seen?
LondonFool: 01. Mother-in-Law in the morning (joke, I suppose).

02. Aftermath of Kobe earthquake. I was lucky, I suppose. Alot of people weren't.
The Fool: Worst or best vacation?
LondonFool: Best: 2 weeks in Anguilla, BWI. At a 5 star resort. Honeymoon.

Worst: Paying for it.
The Fool: Tell us about your first date. Who was it with and where did you go? (Remember, this is a family show!) ;)
LondonFool: I'll admit to 'starting' very young (that's 'cos my wife doesn't use my PC). Not sure what the first real date was. Maybe cinema.
The Fool: What's the one thing you'd MOST like to see The Motley Fool improve upon, or add to the site?
LondonFool: I'd like to be able to e-mail initial postings, as well as replies to postings.

Not sure. All ok, really.
The Fool: Okay Gilligan (or Ginger), you're stuck on a deserted island. What one material possession would you hope to have with you?
LondonFool: My PC (with Sat-linked-Modem).
The Fool: OK, your favorite non-financial website?
LondonFool: A few. Maybe the ChelseaFC site, just to complain to others in the same boat after defeats, but we don't get many of them. :-)
The Fool: Tell us what your best investment has been so far and how you discovered it.
LondonFool: My Market Analyser from www.MDStrader.com. Best money ever spent. This is the best stock analyser program there is and you can choose conductors and indicators like accumulators which show any stock manipulation of insider buying etc. It really is something else.
The Fool: When you aren't working or sitting in front of the computer, what occupies your time?
LondonFool: Wife, two daughters, one son and following Chelsea FC. I quite like my garden, too.
