The Fool: If you could be the CEO of any public company, which one and why?
Plaidliquid: Microsoft, 'cause who doesn't want to be more powerful than God and Government combined?
The Fool: Briefly review your favorite book.
Plaidliquid: This changes frequently. Right now it's Barrel Fever by David Sederis. His essay "The Santaland Diarys" Made me laugh so hard when I read it- in the Philadelphia airport- that people moved away from me like I was the crazy one. Hilarious. I also really really loved David Foster Wallace- The Broom of the System, oh, and One Hundred Years of Solitude... I really like books a lot.
The Fool: What, in your opinion, are some of life's big mysteries?
Plaidliquid: What is the 57 all about on the Heinz bottle? Why do waitresses always wait until you have a mouth full of food to ask you how everything is? Where do all of those socks from the laundry go? Why are people wearing bell bottoms again- are we doomed to repeat history? Why can't we all just get along?
The Fool: What's the best restaurant you've ever been to? (Include name, location, and average bill for two.)
Plaidliquid: As of late I've been on a big red meat kick. The other night we went to the Capital Grille in Boston for a birthday. There were 6 or 7 of us, which is ideal for a place with shared sides. I had a filet au poivre, still mooing, which was wonderful. But even better was the fact that I got to eat some of all the wonderful steak house side dishes and appetizers- fried calamari, creamed spinach, mashed potatos, asparagus w/Hollandaise sauce, fried onions, etc etc etc. Oh, and Creme Brulee for dessert. It was about 90 bucks a person w/two bottles of wine for the table. if there is a better place that we all go to when we die, we'll eat like this when we get there.
The Fool: What's your greatest athletic achievement? Little League champ? Ran a marathon? Did 4 consecutive sit-ups?
Plaidliquid: I broke my hip about two years ago- lets just say I fell off of the back of a high speed object and imapled myself on a non-moving object. I'm back up to running 3 miles a day now... So, I'm pretty thrilled with that.
The Fool: What's one of your special talents?
Plaidliquid: I can hang a spoon on my nose. I know, you're saying 'bah, who can't hang a spoon on their nose!' I can also hang spoons on my chin and my cheeks, and I can do it all at the same time. Up to four spoons at once.
The Fool: What's the one thing you'd MOST like to see The Motley Fool add to our service or improve upon?
Plaidliquid: The site is really cool, but it's not always so easy to navigate.
The Fool: Have you had a brush with fame, the proverbial '15 minutes'? Tell us about it.
Plaidliquid: At Graduation, Bill Cosby gave our commencement address, I was sitting in the aisle seat. When he walked down the aisle one of my friends screamed "Leonard Part 6!" He stopped and turned and looked in the crowd for the insane freak. That was pretty close.
The Fool: When you aren't working or sitting in front of the computer, what occupies your time?
Plaidliquid: Sailing is my primary passion, but it's pretty seasonal. Nothing like the moment when you cut the motor off,and there's nothing but the sound of the wind in the sails...... so that and Trying to take over the world, oh, and adding to my ever expanding shoe collection.
The Fool: Give a short description of your best and/or worst vacation.
Plaidliquid: The summer of my Junior Year in College, one of my friends was sailing in the Newport-Bermuda Race. Apparently the race is totally exhausting, so no one wants to sail the boats back home again afterwards. So, he called me and asked if I wouldn't mind coming to Bermuda to help sail the boat back to Marblehead, MA. Sort of a no-brainer.
So I flew down and we partied in Bermuda for a few days, it was a great time, lots of sun, sand and surf, all on someone elses dime.
We sailed out early one morning, getting an early start to stay ahead of some bad weather that was coming up from south of us. We were in a hurry because we really didn't want to have a storm hanging over our heads for the four days home. We probably weren't being as careful as we should have been. About a mile outside of Bermuda we hit a reef. But after some inspection, the boat looked like it was OK, and we kept going.
About 5 hours into the day, an alarm went off, and we decided we were going to have to turn around- into the storm we had been just ahead of all day. It took us 12 hours- sailing into the wind, in the cold, dark, rain and hail- hail, who knew it could hail in Bermuda?!
So, it sucked, but everyone worked really well together, and we all grew really close over the course of the night. I still see all of them, and I got a great anecdote to tell at cocktail parties out of the deal.
The Fool: What's the best product you use that most people don't know about?
Plaidliquid: Wet'n'Wild lip liner. It's 99 cents and it works as well, if not better than it's more expensive rivals.
The Fool: Which celebrity or public figure (past or present) do you most look like?
Plaidliquid: There was a PSA for safe sex, and it starred this blonde cheerleader girl, who looked just like me. She was one of those "Not me, not now." girls. This was probably about two years ago.
The Fool: What's the best advice you've ever received?
Plaidliquid: "Don't Panic"- Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

The Fool: How'd you find out about the Fool? (Make your answer as colorful and truthful as possible.)
Plaidliquid: One of my friends is fool-fan. He got into it, talked about it incessantly, and made me sign up so that he could have more people who loved him.
