| The Fool: | What's the best product you use that most people don't know about? |
| TMFPanic: | I love the Sawzall, which is a heavy-duty saw made by a company called Milwaukee. I like to build stuff in my spare time, and this thing really lives up to its name. |
| The Fool: | What's the most overrated idea, person, or event in our culture? |
| TMFPanic: |
I hate to say it, but it's the car. It is a means of transport, pure and simple. That we often judge a person's worth solely on the basis of the car they drive has always bothered me. Look at Sam Walton, who used to tool around in an old beat-up pick-up truck. Now that's someone who had his head screwed on right. (Note: I don't own a car myself, so I'm about as biased on this subject as you can get.) |
| The Fool: | Describe your fitness program. |
| TMFPanic: | I walk about two miles a day just going back and forth from work. Not terribly rigorous, but it's better than nothing. |
| The Fool: | Share with us your best money-saving secret -- cutting coupons, sneaking candy into the movies, shopping on Wednesday and pretending you're over 65? |
| TMFPanic: | I rarely carry money with me, unless I absolutely need to. What do you really need to buy during an average working day anyway? |
| The Fool: | List some of your favorite websites, with running commentary where appropriate. (Please provide the URLs, too.) |
| TMFPanic: |
http://dailynews.philly.com/ -- Worth reading just to catch the regular columns by Bill Conlin, one of the best sportswriters in the U.S. http://www.sciam.com/ -- This is the url for Scientific American, a magazine that, strangely, I tend to read more often than my biologist wife. |
