The Fool: Tell us about Your Dumbest Investment... and the lesson you learned from it.
hardy: a motorcycle - I learned that you can't take a 25 MPH corner at 50 MPH with a cruiser bike whose shocks need air.

(Interpretation: know your limits and keep your safety-critical equipment in good shape)

I have the stainless steel to remind me every day...
The Fool: What's the most overrated idea, person, or event in our culture?
hardy: The government can solve my problems - and it has the time, fairness, and know-how to solve the problems of the 250 million other people...
The Fool: What, in your opinion, are some of life's big mysteries?
hardy: The Fatal Conceit that some folks in government have when they think they know whats best for other people.
The Fool: What's been your best investment to date, and how did you discover it?
hardy: my wife - but that sounds kind of mercenary. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me - but monetarily-wise, the best investment I ever made was going to college and getting a BS. I applied on a whim!
The Fool: Do you have a favorite company or stock which the worldwide Foolish community should know about -- and why?
hardy: how embarrassing to have to change this one after 5 years. AMAT it was, but alas no longer.

I don't have a favorite stock anymore, can't afford that much risk to concentrate on any one company.

My real favorite stock I can't tell you about because I work there.
The Fool: List some of your favorite websites, with running commentary where appropriate. (Please provide the URLs, too.)
hardy: quote.yahoo.com - STILL has better stock info than TMF. (AHEM!)
www.cnn.com - best variety of news around, though they slant the news pretty heavily to their editorial bias
