the boy (13) started running with me in April (when it finally stopped snowing). Early May we ran the Race for the Cure 5K together.
His goal time was 45 minutes and he beat it.
This was the first time he ever experienced the "We Are the Champions" feeling, coming through the end stretch of the race,, hearing the crowd cheering, a couple people called out his bib number:-)
He now runs 3-4 times a week and is working more on endurance/stamina than speed.

Last week he went to Denver to visit his Aunt.
They ran the Race for the Cure in Aspen, 7908 feet altitude.
He beat his May sea -level time.

He (and I) are pretty proud of his progress.
Now back to your regularly scheduled race reports.

peace & 5Ks
