Just a public service announcement. College has actually changed since you attended and it has actually changed in the time since my kids have attended(the youngest is 25).

Also andecdata is not worth much.

Changed how?
===========================

I don't know what rad was referring to but....

Here at our local CC they had been having self-paced classes. You did the assignments as fast or slow as you wanted/could. You finished the class when all the assignments were finished.

Too many students didn't finish in the quarter, they needed more structure, so they changed it back to lecture and assignments.

We used to have welding classes, those have stopped since there weren't enough students to pay for the classes.

They added a truck driving school.

The school changes with the popularity of the programs.

Some schools are considering going to competency based education. Western Governors University is this way. It's similar to the way the CC used to be. The students have to have discipline. I, personally, like it.

Those are a few of the changes I know about. I'm sure there are others.
