ok - so hate me more. My son got a too small hooded jacket that needed to be returned. Didn't have time to look around - just wanted a store credit and come back later. Go in - come back.

SILLY salesperson told me - "gift usually would be a $39.00 credit, but it's on sale now, so you only get $29.00 . If you had come in earlier, I could have given you the full $39.00, since it was a Christmas present and we know it was purchased before Christmas and before the sale started."

"can you ask for the $39 - since you know it was a Christmas present?'
"could you ask the manager?'
so we went thru the whole dance again.
"even though we KNOW you should get the full credit, we just can't"
"that doesn't seem right"
"could you ask someone else?"

now - this is the clincher...!

"oh well, then -OKAY - give her the full credit!"

Where as, I informed them that if it was within their means to give full credit - why did we have to go thru the whole deal - make me know I wasn't getting full credit, informing me of the sale, getting a customer irritated. Why not just give the full credit to begin with?"

answer? "Store Policy ! "
