Q1 numbers on Cali registrations are finally out from the California New Car Dealers’ Association. It confirms the momentum for Fusion. Fusion’s now back in fourth with 6,507 units for a 9.6% mid-size share. Accord led with 15,369 units. Camry sold a surprisingly low 12,991 units. The Altima sold 7,947 units, followed by Fusion (6,507). The Sonata rounded out the top five with 5,583 units. So there is some good momentum there, and its' pretty much been a Q1 thing. Last year’s Q4 sales were not in the top 5. It’s also across the board. Fiesta and Focus are in their categories’ top 5. Even Taurus cracked its list. And of course the F series led all comers 8,806 to 5,895 for the nearest competitor (the Silverado). That’s a 37.5% share. Between F series and the Silverado, it's almost the entire truck market, even in Cali. Ram is #3. Strong for the domestics and really no different in Cali than elsewhere in the US. The lack of Japanese truck penetration even in Cali surprises me a little. http://www.cncda.org/secure/GetFile.aspx?ID=1897Good across the board performance that's just getting started???Peter
