Good morning,

This morning Johns Manville Corporation reported a 44 percent increase in net income for the three months ended September 30, 1999. Third quarter net income was $73.2 million, or 49 cents per share, compared with net income of $50.7 million, or 31 cents per share, in the third quarter of 1998. This increase reflects contributions from recent acquisitions, improved pricing in building insulation, strong volumes across many of the Company's businesses, cost improvements, and a lower tax rate resulting from the Company's share repurchase earlier in the year.
