Why has it not had better results this year? Also is there a better value screen to use for safety and at least some better upside results than LOWPB?

Thanks in advance.

Don't judge the screen for the market trend.

And yet I do think we have some better value choices than LowPB.

Who is to say which screens will have better returns? If we knew that secret, we would all be rich.

The truth is that any screen that did well one year might do poorly the next and vice versa. CAPRS would be a prime example of that. I believe it's currently beating all other screens in TTM return. Yet, in the previous year, it lost to the market by a large margin. It's a toss up.

Is there a consensus as to which screens work well? ... new to this forum.

wpr101,

No such luck as a consensus around here, but plenty of well thought out posts about various screens, and about backtests of the screens.

The best introduction to this board's outlook and resources is in a fine series of posts by JimZipCode:

For this board, Mark W's search engine/database is way better than the native Fool tool:

If you're interested in an annual, check out the Shrinkage screen. It has a higher CAGR and a lower GSD than LowPB.
