If I have $10,000 in short term capital losses this year, I know I can use $3,000 of that against my earnings, leaving $7,000 for next year. For next year, if I had $10,000 in short term capital gains, would I be able to subtract the $7,000 from the previous year or would I still be limited to $3,000?If I'm still limited to $3,000, how many years do I have before I can no longer do this? Thanks.
